Real estate web site design case studies - New home builder web site
Lakewood Homes
Objective
In 2001, Lakewood Homes, an Illinois residential home builder, approached AccuVis
to update their web site infrastructure. Their former web site let
visitors search for new homes, but the site was difficult to maintain
due to redundant content. Due to fluctuations in the real estate
market, Lakewood Homes needed the ability to update housing prices
without technical assistance.
Lakewood Homes also has web sites for individual real estate communities
including Lakewood Falls Club, Lakewood Creek, and Grand Haven,
all located in Northwest Illinois.
Solutions
-
AccuVis created a database structure to hold content about
each housing community, including available house models, prices,
floor plans and photos. Includes information about the surrounding
region to help site visitors decide on the location for their
real estate investment.
-
Upgraded web server infrastructure to support site traffic
levels.
- A custom content management solution allows non-technical staff
to maintain product, customer, and order information.
Results
The Lakewood Homes web site infrastructure improvements resulted
in:
- Ability for Lakewood Homes staff to change real estate prices
and other web site content which frequently changes.
- Strong infrastructure supporting over 8 million hits per month.
- Search engine marketing programs resulting in over 500% site traffic increase.
